Erika Rems first team all-county at first sinngles in the Greater Middlesex Conference Tournament
Erika Rems of Metuchen was not your average freshman in the 2016 season.

Listed as a four-star player by Tennis Recruiting Network, there was a lot of potential coming into the season for the Metuchen freshman.
Rems lived up to that promise, winning the Greater Middlesex Conference Tournament at first singles after defeating Elizabeth Yu of J.P. Stevens, 6-2, 6-0.
Rems had just one loss in team play this season, to Shore's Halah Davis in the final round of the Central Jersey, Group 1 tournament following a 10-point super tiebreaker in lieu of a full third set.
The Metuchen star was undefeated going into the state singles tournament. She made the fourth round before bowing out to Ashley Hess of Holy Angels, 6-2, 6-0.
