Clean Sweep for Girls at June Eastern Super Six

Sydney Sharma, Valencia Xu, Andrea Cerdan and Stephanie Schrage took home the titles for all Girls age divisions.

In West Orange, New Jersey, the 4th-seeded Syndey Sharma stormed through the draw without dropping a set en route to capture her first Girls 12’s Super Six Championship. Sydney defeated top-seeded Stephanie Yakoff of Fort Lee, New Jersey, in the semifinals 6-0, 6-3. This was followed by a gritty 7-6, 7-5 triumph over 3rd-seeded Jaiden Mckee of Elma, New York in the finals.

Valencia Xu, also seeded 4th, claimed her maiden Girls 14's Super Six Championship title in Maywood, New Jersey, with five victories--four over seeded opponents. Valencia came back from being down a set, with a clutch 3-set victory over 2nd-seeded Tara Malik of Secaucus, New Jersey in the semifinals, winning 4-6, 6-2, 7-6. She backed up her win with a straight set victory over top seeded Elise Wagle of Naskayuna, New York, 6-4, 7-5 to take home the title.

Top-seeded Andrea Cerdan took home the Girls 16's trophy in Chatham, New Jersey, with a dominant performance, winning five matches and only losing 14 games on her road to the title. Andrea defeated 3rd-seeded Georgia Ryan of Rye, New York, 6-0, 6-2 in the semifinals before coming through with a 6-2, 6-4 victory in the finals over 8th-seeded Ava Marktham of Demarest, New Jersey.

In New Shrewsbury, New Jersey, 2nd-seeded Stephanie Schrage captured the Girls 18's Championship, losing only one set in this Super Six. Highlighted by a straight sets victory in the final over 6th-seeded Sophia Hatton of Syracuse, New York, 6-0, 7-6, Stephanie brought home the championship, winning 4 matches to bring home the trophy.
