Banerjee & Schrage Win National Tournament

Samir Banerjee and Stephanie Schrage, both from Millburn, New Jersey, both won national tournaments this month in their respective age divisions.

In Toledo, Ohio, Samir won five rounds, all in straight sets, defeating A. Jesudason from Berwyn, Pennsylvania to win the Boys 12s title. Samir defeated Tye Rothschild, the number nine seed from Beechwood, Ohio 6-1, 6-0 in the semi-final. He was seeded second and only lost 15 games for the entire tournament.

In West Point, New York, Stephanie Schrage, won five rounds to win the Girls 18s national title this month. Seeded number six, she defeated the number three seed, Lexi Milunovich from Massachusetts, 5-7, 6-1, 7-6, and Kylie Wilcox, 6-1, 6-4 in the semi-final. In the final Stephanie defeated Rachel Lim of New York, 4-6, 6-2, 6-0.
