Cerdan & Schrage Victorious in National Selection Tournaments


In Erie, Pennsylvania, Andrea Cerdan, unseeded, won five rounds and dropped only 16 games en route to the title. She defeated #1 seeded Raissa Lou of Pittsford, New York, 6-3, 6-2 in the final round. She also defeated #3 seeded Reilly Tran of Dunn Loring, Virginia, 6-2, 6-2. Andrea also finished third in doubles.

In Cincinnati, Ohio, Stephanie Schrage also won five rounds to claim the Girls 18s National Selection title. Seeded #3, Stephanie defeated the #2, #5 and #6 seeds en route to her title. In the final, Stephanie defeated #5 seeded Anna Li of Wexford, Pennsylvania, 6-2, 6-4. Her toughest match came in the semifinal against Anna Rogers of Stamford, Connecticut: 6-2, 2-6, 6-3.

This is the highest level junior national tournament, featuring the nation's top talent. We are very proud of Andrea and Stephanie for proving that they are among the best in America in their respective age divisions.
