Chen Wins First Ever Super Six

Michael Chen of Holmdel, NJ won five rounds, all in straight sets to secure the Super Six title. Chen was the first to win the inaugural Eastern Section Super Six Tournament in the Boys 16s, held in Glen Cove, NY.

Seeded fourth, Michael went on to defeat 2 seeded opponents before beating Abijeet Joshi in the final 6-1, 6-2. This raised Michael’s Boys 16s ranking to #2 in the East and qualified him for play in upcoming super-nationals. Chen'S recent success has his current ranking at 28th in the Boy’s 16s for the entire country.

Congratulations also go out to Andrea Cerdan, Joanna Zalewski as well as Joshua Marchalik for reaching the semi-finals in the Super Six in their age divisions. The Super Six is the newest and highest level Junior Tournament in this part of the country.
